Presence of mind is generally used for a fat boost of damage against a boss with your usual damage rotation or big pack of trash mobs with holy spam. You pretty much want to use it whenever you have the opportunity, and you really don't need to be super conservative with it.

Presence of Mind appeared in the original Final Fantasy XIV after the release of Patch 1.21. It was a White Mage spell available after completing "Seeds of Initiative" job quest at level 30. Presence of Mind is a job action for the Conjurer at level 30. It reduces spell cast time and recast time, and auto-attack delay by 20% for 15 seconds. It can be recast every 150 seconds.
