In the German-speaking and classical music world, she is best remembered for her performances of the songs of her first husband, Kurt Weill .
Lotte Lenya was a Tony Award-winning and Academy award-nominated actress and singer, best known for her roles in The Threepenny Opera and From Russia with Love. She was also the wife of composer Kurt Weill and a champion of his music.
