Higher education, also called post-secondary education, third-level or tertiary education, is an optional final stage of formal learning that occurs after completion of secondary education. This consists of universities , colleges and polytechnics that offer formal degrees beyond high school or secondary school education.
Further education was officially described as the “post-secondary stage of education, comprising all vocational and nonvocational provision made for young people who have left school, or for adults.”. Further education thus embraced the vast range of university, technical, commercial, and art education and the wide field of adult education.
